I’ve been putting off updating and advertising my blog around the interwebs because I’m not quite happy with my masthead. Because that was a very convenient excuse that could take months to repair. I want to blog, I swear, but it is a committment, particularly now that I have a reader (hi Jay!)…other than my husband, that is. So, I’m biting the bullet and officially kicking off my blog. As added incentive, I’ve signed up for NaBloPoMo, which is a concentrated effort to blog every day (including weekends, which will be tricky, given my non-stop party all the time lifestyle of sharing a sixer with my man and watching Venture Brothers) for the entire month of November. Hopefully it’ll stick.
To properly launch my blog, I figured I’d get down to introductions…though I’ll probably do bits and pieces and jump around a bit, because if my life were interesting, I wouldn’t have time to blog about it.
So, hi. I’m an almost-thirty-something gal living in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband and a dog. I like to write (and will be working on a 50,000 word novel in the month of November for NaNoWriMo), but I don’t like my job, which requires me to do a lot of writing that I’m pretty certain nobody ever reads. I’m type-A, and as a result, high stress, since I’ve got a lot to do and want it all to be perfect. While that attitude has served me well in the past, lately it seems to be bringing on gray hairs and stomach aches (oh, and making it hard for me to get pregnant, which is my latest project). On top of job searching, novel writing and baby making, I’m working on buying a house in the worst real estate market in the nation and trying to cook/clean/launder just enough at home so that I don’t get crushed under a huge pile of dishes and/or laundry, then get eaten by the rats who inhabit my attic.
I’m also trying to slow down a bit and breathe, which is an amazingly challenging thing to do.
I welcome your comments and suggestions at I share the craziness with the world–I know I’m not the only nut on the internet, so thanks for choosing to read all about my problems instead of some other weirdo’s.
